  • March 1: Project Learning Tree. 8:30 am until 1:30 pm at Pensacola Junior College, Milton Campus Project Learning Tree (PLT) is an award-winning, interdisciplinary, environmental education program designed for formal and non-formal educators working with students in pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. PLT uses trees and forests as the context to help young people gain an awareness and knowledge of natural and built environments. PLT stimulates students' critical and creative thinking; develop students' ability to make informed decisions on environmental issues; and instills a commitment of responsible action on behalf of the environment.   • March 13-May 15: Florida Master Naturalist Coastal Module. This 40- hour course about Florida’s coastal systems will provide classroom and hands-on field activities about coastal areas in Florida and the Panhandle.   • March 21: Extension Office Closed 
  • March 26-28: Volunteers are needed for the fishing field trip with Woodlawn Beach Middle School at Shoreline Park South in Gulf Breeze. We will have various stations set up at the park such as fishing, knot tying, backyard bass, habitat conservation, a touch tank and more.   • March 29: 8th annual Seagrass Awareness Celebration at Shoreline Park South in Gulf Breeze. This annual event attracts hundreds of local folks interested in learning about marine life. Scouts are invited to provide an activity, scouting information booth, raise funds and participate in the many activities such as: fishing, kayaking, fish identification, arts and crafts, Marine life Egg Hunt, seining and much more.   • April 11 -13: Emerald Coast Flower and Garden Festival.
  • April 12: Jones Creek Trail Grand Opening and Earth Day Event at Jones Swamp Nature Preserve. Join the Escambia County Neighborhood and Environmental Services Department to open the Jones Creek Trail behind PJC Warrington. We will celebrate the event with outdoor educational hands-on activities!  9am to noon.
