Spring into Vegetable Gardening Series for Beginners

If you have ever considered planting a spring vegetable garden, attend a 4-week series to learn all you need to get started.  This workshop will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. starting January 14th until February 4th.  The cost is $30 per person or $45 per couple and includes numerous handouts. You can attend the sessions at either the Milton and Jay location of UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County. The Milton office is located at 6263 Dogwood Drive. The Jay office is located at 5259 Booker Lane.

The topics for the workshop will be as follows:

January 14th: Homeowner Vegetable Garden Expectations: what to grow and seasonal information, site selection and improving soils

January 21st: Growing Tomatoes, Peppers, Squash and Cucumbers; Seeding and Transplanting Basics

January 28th: General Garden Maintenance: watering, fertilizing, integrated pest management

February 4th: Harvesting, Troubleshooting Vegetable Garden Problems
