Thanksgiving: Getting the Family Involved

Getting ready for the big Thanksgiving meal? Make it a family affair by getting the whole family involved! Depending on their age, kids can help in a variety of ways. Young kids can held set the table, put ice in glasses, carry plated dishes to the serving area. Older kids can help with the prep work, mashing potatoes or chopping veggies for a salad. Getting them involved also increases the likelihood that they will eat some of the nutritious food they helped prepare. If your kids hate to cook, get them to help you sweep the floor or rinse the dishes before they’re allowed to sit down for dessert. When everyone participates, the holiday truly becomes a family event!
