4-H Camps

The Santa Rosa County 4-H program offers several camping opportunities for youth. We have both local day camps as well as overnight (residential) camps. Many of our overnight camps take place at the Timpoochee 4-H Center in Niceville, FL. Other overnight events, such as L egislature and Congress, take place on college campuses.

Camp Timpoochee

This week-long residential camp is held annually at 4-H Camp TImpoochee on the Chocwhathatchee Bay, 8 miles east of Niceville, FL.  Typical camp activities include: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, nature hikes, team building, crafts, fishing, marine explorations, and snorkeling.  This camp is for youth ages 8 -12.  Older teens (13 -14 years old) may be counselors-in training, and teens 15 and older may serve as counselors upon completion of counselor training.  Cost (including all meals, canteen snacks, t-shirt, and transportation) is $200.00.  The cost of camp for those who qualify for free/reduced lunches is $30.00.

Southern Region Leader's Forum

The Southern Region Leader's Forum is designed to provide a range of interesting and useful learning experiences which are applicable to "back-home" 4-H goals and objectives. Adult Volunteers will have the opportunity to share ideas that have worked for them, gain knowledge and skills in working with youth, increase ability in organizing and motivating 4-H leaders, and encourage teamwork in Program Development.
